What is Aluminium Tooling?
Aluminium tooling refers to moulds and tools manufactured from high-grade aluminium alloys. It is commonly used in plastic injection moulding, where it offers a practical option for producing accurate, reliable components.
Lightweight, thermally efficient and straightforward to machine, aluminium delivers faster turnaround times, lower tooling costs and greater flexibility for design modifications than traditional steel alternatives. Suitable for production runs generally under 100,000 cycles, aluminium tools are often the most effective choice for smaller/prototype or bridge-level production runs.
RP Technologies designs and manufactures precision aluminium injection mould tooling for prototype, pre-production and production components. We have a very strong reputation within the industry for quality, complexity and for the excellent standard of our customer service.
Capabilities
We manufacture all our aluminium tooling from our purpose-built 25,000 sq. ft production facility in the West Midlands or through our overseas partners for low-cost tooling solutions. Our facility is ideally placed in the centre of the country so that finished components can be dispatched quickly to customers across the length and breadth of the UK.
We provide in-house tool design and manufacture for single or multi cavity tools, carried out by some of the most skilled, expert and experienced toolmakers in the industry.
Each tool that we design has a dedicated technician who looks after it from concept through to final production. Our dedicated team of Quality Engineers are on hand at all times to fully inspect components to ensure that they achieve tight tolerances and pass critical functionality, performance and cosmetic inspections.
