Quality Engineering Services
At RP Technologies, we have a dedicated Quality Engineering department onsite.
We have ISO accreditation to ISO 9001:2015, and we provide full CMM capability, right through to PPAP submission.
Our Quality Engineers are involved with each project from the beginning of its lifecycle right through to completion. Their input ensures that we meet the quality expectations of our customers, and that we can closely monitor production at every stage of the process.
Our high proportion of repeat custom is a testament to the market-leading standard of aluminium tooling and plastic injection moulded components we manufacture, and their subsequent performance in the marketplace.

Our Quality Engineers are proactive and hands-on in their involvement with each project right from the very start.
Let’s look at some of the services which our Quality Engineers are responsible for:
- Feasibility: as soon as CAD and project drawings are received, they are assessed by our Quality Engineers and CAD team to identify any feasibility issues
- Creation of reports for dimensional checks
- Evaluation of components/tooling to CAD data, using CMM, optical projector, hand-held measuring equipment
- Creation of submission documentation as required: Part Submission Warrant, PPIR, Flow Chart, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Study
- Creation of checking aid documentation: Process Requirement Sheet/Visual Aid, Packaging Instruction Sheets, Standard Operating Procedures
- Creation of boundary samples
- Patrol inspection and percentage audits, when required
Dimension Reports
Full dimensional reports, including Inspection Reports, ISIR, FAIR and Measurement Reports.
Our dimensional reports are conducted using state-of-the-art equipment and machinery, including our QCT Quantum 4 Measuring Machine (CMM) and our Benchtop Optical Comparator, otherwise known as a Shadowgraph. Using this cutting-edge technology, we can produce dimension reports on components and tools which are high in accuracy. Our equipment enables us to produce reliable and authoritative data where tight tolerances are required.
We can produce geometrical measurements from lines, points, circles, and cones. We can also measure surface points by using our integrated CAD Software.
PPAP Reporting
Our automotive customers often require PPAP reporting. We have full CMM capability through to PPAP Level 3. This includes the following services:
- Process FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis)
- Measurement Systems Analysis Studies
- Dimension Reports
- Sample Product Parts
- Part Marking Compliance
- IMDS Data (International Material Data System)
- PPAP Warrant

Continued Investment in Quality Engineering
RP Technologies has continued to invest in its quality engineering services to ensure that it stays ahead of the game. This investment includes employment of additional members of staff, renovation of the quality engineering offices, and the purchase of high precision measuring tools and equipment.
This investment reflects our sustained commitment to offering the best possible level of service before, during, and post-production. As ‘partners not suppliers’, we enjoy working with our customers, furnishing them with accurate and reliable technical data to fully support the aluminium tooling and plastic injection moulded components we manufacture for them.
We have recently invested in a new QCT Quantum 4 CMM Machine. This new machine features the Renishaw Probe System and QCT Inspect 3D-PRO Software – a systems graphics engine which allows for quick calculations and the construction of complex features.
