Medical – What Makes RP Special

Our Medical Credentials

Medical devices are something of a speciality for RP.

Our ‘Without Limits’ philosophy means that we can manufacture any medical component or device, simple or complex.

We don’t make changes to designs. We adapt, and we find solutions to complex issues.

That’s why we’ve created some very memorable, and extremely challenging tooling and parts for the medical device sector for over a decade now.

RP has a strong network of material suppliers who source medical grade polymers, including FDA approved grades. We can also process materials that are supplied by the customer.

Complex Prototype for the Medical Device Sector

We have extensive experience of using a range of plastic polymers which are ideal for the medical device sector, including PEEK, PEI, polycarbonate, polypropylene, and polyethylene.

Our customers get expert advice on which is the right type of plastic for the medical device which they are trying to manufacture. Customers can choose from an extensive list of plastic polymers, all of which are FDA approved grades.

There are no minimum order quantities, and we offer a fast turnaround service called RP Rapid on certain medical components and devices.

We also offer rapid prototyping in production-grade materials. This is ideal for the manufacture of functional prototypes. This process has a cost-saving benefit to the customer, in that it can be used to test products prior to investing in full scale production.

In addition, we also offer bridge tooling, which can be ideal for medical device start ups or product design agencies who want to explore the first iteration of a design.

We are specialists in low-medium volume, which makes us the perfect manufacturing partner for production quantities of market-ready medical devices and components.

We have our own onsite toolroom and a suite of Hurco 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centres

We also have a large mould shop which is filled with state-of-the-art Borche plastic injection moulding machines, all of which are operated by injection moulding technicians who are highly experienced when it comes to manufacturing medical components and equipment.
