Toolroom Benefits From New Additions
This week we have welcomed some new toolmakers to our very busy toolroom here at RP.
As part of our ongoing growth and investment programme, we’ve recently employed a new Toolmaker and an additional Apprentice Toolmaker.
Geoff – Toolmaker
Geoff started his training to become a toolmaker at the age of 15.
Geoff has worked in various roles over the years and has gained almost 50 years of toolmaking experience.
Geoff’s background in precision tool making and gauges means his invaluable skills will make him a vital new addition to our team.
Geoff impressed us with his energy and his desire to learn new things.
Russell – Apprentice Toolmaker
Russell has joined us as our new apprentice toolmaker.
We have always taken on apprentices, many of whom now have more senior roles at the company.
We believe in giving young people who are keen and hardworking an opportunity to succeed in the world of manufacturing.
Russell is currently working towards his level 3 apprenticeship and attends Dudley College once a week to learn about the theoretical side of toolmaking.
There’s a huge skill gap within our industry and apprenticeships provide the vital hands on experience which can’t be picked up in the classroom.
Russell will be supported by a team of experienced toolmakers who will help him to learn while he is working with us.
