Quality Hard Tooling Built for Mass Production
RP Technologies has been manufacturing precision tooling for over two decades, with our founding members bringing a combined 80 years of toolmaking experience to every project.
We produce hard tooling that is often highly complex, built to exacting standards and designed to perform consistently over the long term.
We have produced thousands of tools for some of the biggest companies in the UK, Europe, the US and the Far East, from our UK production facility or through our overseas partners

What is Steel Tooling?
Steel tools are mould tools made using steel grades selected for their strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Common applications include plastic injection moulding, die casting and rubber moulding.
Where tools need to withstand demanding production conditions, tighter process control and extended service life, steel is the material of choice.
Steel tooling is typically rated for up to one million cycles, making it the go-to choice for sustained, high-volume production runs.
Our Capabilities
Tooling is manufactured from our purpose-built 25,000 sq. ft facility in the West Midlands or through our overseas partners for low-cost tooling solutions. We provide in-house tool design and manufacture for single and multi-cavity tools, delivered by a team of highly skilled, detail-driven toolmakers with investment in advanced machinery to match.
Each tool we design is managed by a dedicated technician from concept through to final production. Our Quality Engineers are available throughout the process to inspect finished components in detail, ensuring they meet tight tolerances and pass critical functionality, performance and cosmetic checks.
We support customers across medical, automotive, aerospace, rail, electronics and defence, as well as niche manufacturers and start-ups bringing new products to market.
Benefits of Steel Tooling
For high-volume, long-run production, steel tooling offers clear commercial advantages. Its strength and wear resistance support consistent part quality over extended production runs, reducing the risk of premature tool degradation and the costs that come with it.
Corrosion resistance is another key advantage. Where moulds are exposed to moisture, aggressive materials or frequent cleaning cycles, steel provides a more dependable long-term solution than softer alternatives.
For customers producing precision components at scale, the dimensional stability and repeatability of steel tooling helps maintain reliable performance across the full life of the tool.
We can also store each tool in our secure on-site storage facility and provide ongoing tool maintenance if required.
Finishes
We offer a full range of finishing options including texturing, engraving, polishing and bead blasting, ensuring every tool meets both the functional and aesthetic requirements of the application.
Our toolmakers will advise on the most appropriate finish based on material selection, production environment and the demands of the end-use part.
